A touch of cold in the Autumn night I walked abroad, |
September 2012 Archives
A beautiful "almost autumn" evening here, and I am catching up with some birthday wishes. First for my mother Joanne Evenson Cherrington who turned 83 on September 3 - may she be blessed with many more returns of the day. Then, remembering Steve's mother Elizabeth Richards Hatfield who would be 87 on September 12 had she lived. We miss her very much.
Leaves are showing ever so slight a shade of yellow gold, and the air is crisp and cool in the evening. What a fantastic time of year!

We are back from our trip west - first to Seattle and then a stop in Las Vegas. Wow, what a town that has become since we last visited in 1988. Lights, glitter, far-out fashion, people and sights and action in every direction! We stayed at the Paris Hotel as did our friends the Chocks and it was a beautiful and busy place. Our dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, hosted by the Chocks, was memorable in every way. The view of the Bellagio Fountain and all the city lights, the food, the wine, the waiter, the conversation - all of it was wonderful. We tried our luck at a few of the one-armed bandits :) We each won a little bit and together walked away with $57 in our pockets. Woody was a great tour guide, and he also was a fearless gambler. Only by intervention did he manage not to lose his fortune, haha! Best part of Sin City was being with our friends, and we sure do look forward to next winter when we will be with them in Honolulu!
Steve and I are enjoying a trip out Seattle, visiting and touring both! We are staying with Uncle Roy and have had several great sidetrips and time spent also with Paula and Byron.
Tomorrow on to Las Vegas!
