As of Friday morning I will no longer be around to do the watering. Taylor will try to come by several times to take care of a few select plants and shrubs and a young Japanese maple, but by and large it will be survival of the fittest. I can't ask anyone to tend the plants like I do when I am here. Sooo, that's about the size of it. In some ways I will be relieved to have that burden lifted for the rest of the summer. We will be home for three weeks, and then gone again on a trip to Seattle and Las Vegas. So it just seems prudent to be done. Sigh.
In better news, we are looking forward to our trip to Minnesota. We will be at my brother's up by Duluth the first weekend for the Cherrington family reunion, Then next week in the cities visiting Steve's dad. The following weekend we will go to New Richland (my folks hometown) for a larger family reunion. There's a neat story attached to that town - briefly, our good friends from Indy just moved there as Brian has become the pastor of my mother's ancestral home church! In fact, it is my Gr. Gr. Grandparents who donated a portion of their farmland to build the church in 1858. Small world!
