It is still only May, and already we are having the hot and brutal temperatures of summer. I have been so busy with watering our landscaping and flowers etc, that everything else has gotten behind. I would be hard pressed to remember when I last had time to vacuum or dust or clean!! I think I need a cleaning lady, or maybe a gardener - haha! At any rate, it is a great season and I love the new growth and activity I am seeing outside!
Today we are driving over to Cincinnati to attend a party in honor of Helen Rotte's 100th birthday! She is the mother of our friend Gloria Worth. I first met Helen about 25 years ago here in Indianapolis - she and Gloria's dad would visit frequently, and I got to know Helen quite well over the following years. She became a widow in 1994, but pushed forth into her next phase of life with a vigor and vim to continue enjoying each day given to her. It has truly been a pleasure to become her friend and get to know her!
Happy Birthday Helen ~ may you bless this earth with many more years!!!
Steve and I are going up to Minnesota tomorrow for a week's visit - he with his dad, and me with my folks. Looking forward to seeing lots of family and being with my mother on Mother's Day for the first time in many, many years!
