It's a Beautiful Morning!
The Rascals had hit after hit in the late 1960's, but this is the one that goes through my head on a lovely day such as this - it reminds me of early morning walks to school in Pine City with my friend Beth Pearthree...
Beautiful Morning
The Rascals
It's a beautiful mornin', Ahhh,
I think I'll go outside a while,
An jus' smile.
Just take in some clean fresh air, boy!
Ain't no sense in stayin' inside
If the weather's fine an' you got the time.
It's your chance to wake up and plan another brand new day.
Either way,
It's a beautiful mornin', Ahhh,
Each bird keeps singin' his own song.
So long!
I've got to be on my way, now.
Ain't no fun just hangin' around,
I've got to cover ground, you couldn't keep me down.
It just ain't no good if the sun shines
When you're still inside,
Shouldn't hide, still inside, shouldn't hide,
Ahhhh..Oh! (shouldn't hide) Ah, ah, Oh.....
There will be children with robins and flowers;
Sunshine caresses each new waking hour.
Seems to me that the people keep seeing
More and more each day, gotta say, lead the way,
It's okay, wednesday, thursday, it's okay,
(Ahhh) monday, wednesday, friday, weekday, Ah, Ah, Ohhh.
I think I'll go dig up that record album, right now!!

"Mosaics Teacher Survives Conversation Club"
I am happy to report that Gloria did indeed survive her guest appearance at an off-site (the Worth's palatial home) meeting of my Conversation Club. Now celebrating our 20th Gala Year, the conversations and conduct of CC members can be intimidating to an outsider who may not be used to the twists and turns or intensity of our discussions. (Not to mention our sudden outbursts of raucous laughter!) Gloria patiently presented a very interesting lesson on several methods and processes of mosaic creations. The pieces she has done are quite lovely, and several among us may now even dare to tackle a project of our own. Many thanks to an informative and gracious hostess!

Fog
It is a beautiful morning, with sun beginning to appear through the dense fog of the early day. The last day of summer, and I have alot more than "one rose left blooming alone" as the poet wrote. I have finally given the nod to autumn, and purchased five pretty mums. Which to me are at the same time beautiful and bittersweet because their blossoms begin when summer flowers are fading. Still getting quite a few moonflowers opening each evening, and blackeyed susan vines are pretty but most everything else has had it's day!

To lay down my weary thoughts
It has been a whirlwind of eventful activities both near and far that I have again been away from the place that brings me such solace...morningglorees.
The US has been turned upside down with the winds and water of Hurricane Katrina. And now the good folks have turned themselves toward the poor misplaced folks and there is hope that each and every survivor will have a chance to start over. I am busy tonight with laundry and tidying up the kitchen and I am so thankful to have a clean home with water and plumbing and a safe, soft place to lay my head. It is an embaressment of riches that I enjoy. I am grateful.
My day to day life has been full of fun and fury. A mini family reunion over labor day, a few more plants plopped into our dry and dusty soil ( I pray for rain every day) and then oodles of preparations for Sunday school. Now the routine begins.
I was late in filling my hummingbird feeder but I did that as soon as I arrived home today. And much to my amusement a saucy lady came right over as if to say...I have been waiting!!! I am glad she held out for a refill from our feeder.
Well enough said, I am rambling on. Peace to all who visit here.

Best and Worst
This awful thing that has happened to our southern brothers and sisters has brought out the best (Red Cross, First Responders, National Guard etc) and the worst (looting of non-necessities, shooting at helicopters etc). To see on the TV the horrid conditions and suffering is heart breaking. If the call for housing goes out beyond that region, I will be on the list. What dark days these areā¦
